The green movement is ever so consistent with keeping up with new trends, that even electricity is starting to sound like a faded concept.
Transportation is doing everything they can to introduce the ideas of alternative fueling. This comes in the form of hydrogen fuel cells. In it’s entirety, a large majority of hydrogen is made from the natural gas and cool coal that we kind of ruin in a way.
You wonder why there isn’t a simpler way to power cars? I do. Sometimes, I wish they were just powered by telepathy. But then there would need to be some roof clearance just to fit our huge-as-heck craniums.
So What Makes Hydrogen So Green?
Well, the greenest hydrogen can be created by way of using electrolyzers. This then is powered via renewable electricity. A study from last year states that renewable electricity is likely derivative from a collective of renewable energy sources, such as wind, hydro and solar power.
According to the study, transportation is the most likely to benefit the advancement of green hydrogen. This is “due to its heavy reliance on oil products and to the few low-carbon options in some applications.”
Can you imagine what it must be like for hydrogen to power our vehicles? We’re a few mere molecules away from it being water. Let’s just have waterbeds on wheels!
Seriously squawking, there was a regional assessment in Europe talking about how the potential fuel can be really cool. It would even slice the cost of electrolyzers by the time it’s 2030, when considering the scale economies.
Experts like Matt Waller, from the Sam M. Walton College of Business, believes that “it’s starting to look like hydrogen fuel cells are in the lead.”
And if that’s the case, then the World has nothing but green power to look forward to in the upcoming decade.
