Dodge is doing a good job of keeping the Charger and the Challenger looking fresh. They are two of the oldest cars that are selling new in the United States. It has been announcing the Hemi Orange and SRT Black packages for the 2022 model year.
Dodge Challenger and Charger – Orange Accents
The Hemi Orange package, as its name does imply, does apply to both muscle cars. Halloween in October is synonymous with Orange. It does seem Dodge’s timing is playing on that. Though the appearance package isn’t a time-worn tribute to the beloved custom of knocking on a stranger’s door. Also, asking for a Tootsie Roll. In fact, early Hemi engines were, at times, painted in orange. It is these V8s that honor the package.
Moreover, Dodge is making the Hemi Orange package is available on the GT RWD and Scat Pack Widebody variants of the Charger and the Challenger. The Dodge Challenger and Charger will receive an orange stripe that will stretch from front to back. There are orange brake calipers, too, plus orange accents on the exterior emblems. In fact, inside, there are orange stitching on the seats. Also on the door panels and the dashboard. Plus the contrasting black trim on a number of parts.
There is a visual link between the past and the present while painting the engine block. However, it doesn’t sound like anything that has changed under the hood. The power for the GT RWD does come from Dodge’s tried-and-true 3.6 liters Pentastar V6. It is rating at 305 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. There is an amazing naturally-aspirated, 6.4-liter Hemi V8 tuned to develop 485 horsepower. In fact, the eight-cylinder can be paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
SRT Black Package
The SRT Black Package, as its name also implies, does bring the blacked-out accent to the SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye models. Moreover, the Dodge does apply a Midnight Gray Metallic finish to the emblems.
As its name also implies, the SRT Black package brings blacked-out accents to the SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye models. Dodge applies a Midnight Gray Metallic finish to the emblems and Black Nickel exhaust tips for the Charger (the Challenger already gets them).
