An employee is facing some jail time behind bars after allegedly stealing hundreds of thousands from a company she worked for. Patricia Sales, aged 46, was arresting this week after she allegedly stole more than $143,000 from her employer while working as a Director of Finance for All About Kids. The company provides services to children with developmental delays.
Employee: Charged with a Felony Count
Specifically, Sales was charging with a felony count of second-degree grand larceny. Madeline Singas, the Nassau County District Attorney, said it was part of her duties at All About Kids. Sales had important access to the company’s payroll and accounting system for generating checks. Thus a stamp with the owner’s signature.
Employee: Notices From the IRS
In February 2020, it is alleging that employees were looking in the Sales’ office for copies of bank statements when they were discovering many mailed notices from the IRS.
Payroll Taxes
Failing to pay payroll taxes, the notices have indicated to the IRS since June 2019. All About Kids owed more than $700,000 in the past due taxes and $140,000 in penalties to the IRS in June.

Alleged Theft
Shortly after the alleged theft, Singas said the company notified her office. Moreover, the investigation found she had allegedly stole $143,680 from All About Kids.
Another Court Date to Come Soon
On Monday, June 14th, Sales was releasing following her arrest and is scheduling to appear back in court. Moreover, if convicted, she faces a maximum term of between five to 15 years in prison.
