Maserati is gearing up to unveil an exciting new “super sports car” during this year’s Monterey Car Week in California. This upcoming model represents the next step in the evolution of the existing MC20 luxury sports car. Maserati has tantalized fans with a single teaser image, keeping the full reveal under wraps until Friday, August 16.

As August rolls in, car enthusiasts eagerly anticipate Monterey Car Week and the impressive car debuts it brings. Maserati has set the stage by releasing a sneak peek of its latest super sports car, slated for a grand unveiling at the event.

The details about this new model are scarce, with only one teaser photo available. Maserati describes the car as a “further evolution of the MC20,” emphasizing that it carries forward the racing spirit of the Maserati GT2. The GT2, originally a production MC20, transitions into something more racing-focused, though the new model does not bear the GT2 name.

The teaser image reveals a bold set of louvers cut into the front fender, giving the car an aggressive look.

Unlike the GT2 or the MCXtrema track car, this new model lacks a large front lip or dive planes. Instead, its front end closely resembles the standard road-ready MC20, hinting that the new vehicle will be suitable for street use.

This latest model is expected to feature the familiar twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 Nettuno engine, which delivers remarkable performance. In the regular coupe and convertible (Cielo) versions, this engine generates an impressive 621 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque, propelling the coupe from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds according to tests.

Maserati plans to showcase the new model in all its glory at “The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering,” a key event during Monterey Car Week. This eagerly anticipated reveal is scheduled for Friday, August 16. Alongside the new model, Maserati will also display the MCXtrema and the limited-edition MC20 Icona, offering a thrilling glimpse into the brand’s cutting-edge innovations.
