Patchogue is an incorporated village on the south shore of Long Island in Suffolk County, part of the town of Brookhaven. Patchogue is only 60 miles (100 km) east of Manhattan. The population was 11.798 at the time of the 2010 census. By the way, in 1812  only 75 inhabitants were living in Patchogue. The village has Primary, Middle and High Schools.  Besides, it offers continuing education programs for adults.

St. Joseph’s and Briarcliffe Colleges are two main educational institutions providing educational opportunities.  Patchogue-Medford Library got the reward for the 2010 National Medal for Museum and Library Science for the library’s work in bilingual programming. The village residents also have a chance to enjoy a cultural evening due to the Patchogue Theater for the Performing Arts. They first opened it in 1923 but the place was renovated later. Now it has seats for 1166 spectators.
