As you may have known already, the United States has been through enough trouble with the dangers of COVID-19 and Monkeypox endangering the general public. But now there’s further danger that comes with the Polio Virus being found in the wastewater of New York. Just another sign that perhaps there is still lingering of the disease in the United States. The likes of which hasn’t been seen in almost a decade. And now it’s spreading like wildfire among the unvaccinated. This is what has been found recently in the danger of the wastewater. Another sign that the disease has not been totally extinguished.

The polio virus hasn’t been come across in so long. The disease is going through a quick spread among all the unvaccinated, according to health officials. Regarding the poliovirus, within the wastewater, it’s to say that the local circulation is only going to double, according to the city and NY state health departments.

Dr. Mary T Bassett, the State Health Commissioner states that the detection of poliovirus in wastewater samples is relatively expected, though unprecedented.

Dr. Ashwin Vasan, the New York City Health Commissioner, states that polio’s circulation is definitely too dangerous to not consider child vaccination. Polio can be preventable but only so if the preventions are made in advance.

Polio Virus has been spreading like wildfire.

It’s pretty ironic that this comes not long after the British have made reports that the poliovirus has spread within the city of London.

Not too far off, in Rockland County, there’s an individual that had gone through paralysis weeks ago, only because of polio infection, just north of the city. There are wastewater samples that were collected in June in Rockland, and next to Orange County, it’s found to have the virus.

Plenty of people that had been stuck with the infection of polio don’t quite have the symptoms but are still able to give you the virus to others for plenty of weeks. Vaccinations are able to give great protection as authorities tell others to seek shots right away.

In regards to other outbreaks, there’s a good chance that other people in the state has gotten poliovirus without even being aware of it.

Polio used to be the most feared disease in the United States. There are yearly outbreaks that cause loads of paralysis. The disease usually hits children.

Vaccines have started to become available in 1955 against Polio. This is all the results of a national vaccination campaign that had sliced the numbers of United States’ cases to only less than 100 in the 1960s. It’s all fewer than ten in the 1970s. All according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There’s only a small percentage of people who are suffering from polio paralysis. Such a disease tends to be fatal for between five to ten percent of them paralyzed.

The kids in New York State are going to need to acquire a polio vaccine. Orange and Rockland counties are known by now as the centers of major polio vaccine resistance.
